Cut the hot dogs in half and make vertical slices in the round ends to create 6 octopus legs.
Whisk the corn meal, flour, egg, milk, baking powder, and salt until smooth. Then mix in the ketchup.
Dip the intact parts of the hot dogs in the batter and fry the entire octopuses in hot cooking oil. The cut ends of the hot dogs will start to spread out in the hot oil. If the octopuses' heads are too small after frying, dunk them back in the batter and fry them again until their heads are the right size.
For the finishing touch, use a straw to make circles from thin slices of egg and use some mayonnaise to attach the egg eyes to the octopus heads. Cut out pupils and mouths from the black olives to finish off the faces.
