Equipment
- Parchment paper
- oven-safe frying pan
- oven-safe pasta bowl
Ingredients
- 1 puff pastry sheet
- 8 potatoes, sliced
- 2/3 cup vegetable oil
- 1 tsp rosemary
- salt & pepper to taste
- 3 red onions, sliced
- 1/3 cup white balsamic vinegar
- 7 oz brie, sliced
- 12 strips of bacon
Instructions
- Cut a piece of parchment paper into 4 thin strips and lightly grease both sides of them. Cut the puff pastry dough into 4 strips, each approximately 2 x 14 inches. Line up 1 strip of puff pastry dough with the bottom edge of each strip of parchment paper and center it.
- Wash and thinly slice the potatoes, keeping their skins on. Toss the sliced potatoes with the vegetable oil, rosemary, salt & pepper, then let the potatoes marinate for 20 minutes.
- Peel and slice the red onions into rings, mix them with the white balsamic vinegar, and let them soak for 20 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F. Place the marinated potato slices on top of the puff pastry strips, then position the onion slices between the potato slices.
- Cut the brie into slices and place the slices lengthwise over the red onions and potatoes. Place the strips of bacon lengthwise on top of the slices of brie.
- Place an oven-safe pasta bowl upside down in an oven-safe frying pan.
- Roll up the puff pastry strips 1 after another until you've made 1 giant roll. Place the roll on top of the pasta bowl in the frying pan. Carefully pull the strips of parchment paper off of the puff pastry. Transfer the frying pan to the oven and bake the stuffed puff pastry potato flower at 350°F for 80 minutes, until golden brown.
