Ingredients
- 24 oz onions, diced
- 2 eggs
- 2/3 cup heavy cream
- 1 tbsp salt
- 3 oz bacon, diced
- cubed butter
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 stick butter
- 1 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup milk
- 2 tsp dry yeast
- 1 tsp sugar
Instructions
- Sauté the diced onions in some oil in a pan over medium heat until they turn translucent. Add the sautéed onions to a bowl, add the eggs, heavy cream, and salt, and mix to combine.
- Combine the flour, butter, salt, milk, dry yeast, and sugar, knead into a smooth dough, and let rise.
- Line a pie plate or tart dish with the pastry dough, spoon the onion mixture over the dough, and top with diced bacon and cubed butter.
- Transfer the pie plate to a preheated oven and cook at 350°F for 1 hour.
