Credit: MediaPartisans

The word “schnitzel” is in the basic vocabulary of every German citizen. Everyone’s heard of “Jägerschnitzel,” but they might not have tried the East German variation, beloved by many in the former East Germany. This regional dish consists of breaded kielbasa, tomato sauce and pasta and is still popular today thanks to what Germans call “Ostalgia.”
