Ingredients
  

  • 2 eggs for chocolate cake
  • 2 oz sugar for chocolate cake
  • 2 tbsp water lukewarm, for chocolate cake
  • 2 oz flour for chocolate cake
  • 0.25 tsp baking powder for chocolate cake
  • 2 tsp cocoa powder for chocolate cake
  • 2 eggs for lime cake
  • 2 oz sugar for lime cake
  • 2 tbsp water lukewarm, for lime cake
  • 2 oz flour for lime cake
  • 0.25 tsp baking powder for lime cake
  • 1 tsp lime zest for lime cake
  • 7 oz chocolate for chocolate glaze
  • 3.5 fl oz warm cream for chocolate glaze
  • 2 oz cream cheese for lime glaze
  • 4.5 oz powdered sugar for lime glaze
  • 5 fl oz cream for lime glaze
  • 1 tbsp lime juice for lime glaze
  • chocolate flakes for decoration
  • 3 chocolate truffles for decoration
  • 3 lime slices for decoration
  • lime zest for decoration

Instructions
 

  • Mix equal parts sugar, eggs, lukewarm water, flour, and baking powder in two separate bowls. Add cocoa powder to one bowl and lime zest to the other. Mix until smooth batters form.
  • Fold a piece of aluminum foil several times to form an elongated strip that will divide the pan in two down the middle.
  • Pour each batter into one side of the divided pan and bake at 350°F for 40 minutes.
  • Stir the chocolate and warm cream together in a small bowl until smooth. In a second bowl, stir the powdered sugar, cream cheese, cream, and lime juice until thoroughly mixed.
  • After the baked cake has cooled down, level the top of the cake to create a smooth surface for the glazes.
  • Frost the chocolate cake with the chocolate glaze, and the lime cake with the lime glaze. Garnish the dark side with chocolate flakes and truffle balls, and decorate the light side with lime zest and lime slices.
