Gummy Bear Jello Cake

Course Desserts

Ingredients

  • 8 oz yellow gummy bears
  • 3 fl oz water
  • 3 oz plain yogurt
  • 8 oz red gummy bears
  • 8 oz green gummy bears
  • 8 oz orange gummy bears
  • 8 oz blue gummy bears
  • 4 oz red gummy bears
  • 4 oz blue gummy bears
  • 7 oz brown cola gummies
  • 9 oz white gummy bears
  • 8 fl oz water
  • 3 egg yolks
  • 4 egg whites
  • 3 oz sugar
  • 2 oz flour sieved

Instructions

  • Bring 3 fl oz of water to a boil in a pot. Add 8 oz yellow gummy bears and stir with a whisk. Leave the mixture to cool and then fold in 3 oz plain yogurt. Add the mixture to an ice cube tray and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
  • Repeat the same process with 8 oz red gummy bears, 3 fl oz water, and 3 oz plain yogurt.
  • Repeat the same process with 8 oz green gummy bears, 3 fl oz water, and 3 oz plain yogurt.
  • Repeat the same process with 8 oz orange gummy bears, 3 fl oz water, and 3 oz plain yogurt.
  • Repeat the same process with 8 oz blue gummy bears, 3 fl oz water, and 3 oz plain yogurt.
  • Repeat the same process with 4 oz red gummy bears, 4 oz blue gummy bears, 3 fl oz water, and 3 oz plain yogurt.
  • Add 7 oz brown cola gummies and 9 oz white gummy bears to 8 fl oz water and bring to a boil. No yogurt is used here. Add the mixture to a measuring jug.
  • Beat 4 egg whites until stiff with half of the 3 oz sugar. Whip 3 egg yolks with the other half of the sugar. Carefully fold the egg whites into the egg yolks before adding 2 oz sieved flour. Spread the mixture out evenly on a sheet pan lined with parchment paper and bake at 350°F for about 10 minutes. After baking, remove the sponge cake base from the tray and let it cool.
  • Remove all the ice cube trays from the fridge. If you're having a hard time removing the gummy jellos from the molds, briefly place the tray in hot water. Cut the gummy jellos into small cubes and mix them together in a bowl. Add the cubes to a loaf pan and pour the brown jello on top. Cut the sponge cake base to fit the loaf pan and place it on top. Refrigerate the jello cake for at least 4 hours.
  • To make removing the cake from the pan easier, place it in hot water first. The increase in temperature helps loosen the jello from the sides, so the cake will easily slide out.
