For many families, serving mom breakfast in bed on Mother’s Day is a cherished tradition. Although, this year, let’s hope it also comes with a complete clean-up of the kitchen afterwards. (Ahem!)
French Toast Hearts

- Pan
- Heart-shaped cookie cutter
Ingredients
- 3 slices of bread
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 pinch cinnamon
- butter
- 3 strawberries
- 2 tbsp Nutella
- powdered sugar
Instructions
- Use a heart-shaped cookie cutter to make heart-shaped bread slices.
- Combine the egg, milk, and cinnamon in a mixing bowl and dip the bread on both sides, letting it soak up as much of the egg mixture as possible.
- Melt some butter in a pan and sautée the bread on both sides until golden brown.
- Remove the stems and cut the strawberries into slices. Spread a generous portion of Nutella on two of the three pieces of French Toast, top with strawberry slices, stack, and then sprinkle the top slice with powdered sugar. Garnish with a strawberry fan.
