Equipment
- Muffin pan
- Baking Sheet
Ingredients
- 2 cups flour
- 1 1/3 sticks butter
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- 1 egg
- 7 oz dark chocolate
- 2 cups whipped cream
Instructions
- Place the flour, butter, sugar, salt, and egg into a bowl and knead together to form a dough.
- Sprinkle a work surface with flour, roll out the dough, and cut out six small circles at the bottom. Cut the rest of the dough into six thick strips, and then into six small, thin strips.
- Place the circles at the bottom of a six-cup muffin pan, and the thick strips around the edges. Form the smaller strips into a U-shape, and place them on a separate baking sheet. Bake everything for 20 minutes at 350°F.
- Melt the dark chocolate and then mix with the 2 cups of whipped cream. Leave a bit of the melted chocolate to the side for later use.
- Once the dough pieces are baked and cooled, dunk the "handles" into the leftover melted chocolate and press them onto the side of the "cups."
- Fill your cups with the chocolate mousse. For a spectacular finish, add a dab of whipped cream on top and dust with cocoa powder.
