When you’re really craving a burger, there’s nothing better than sinking your teeth into a giant, juicy ground beef patty topped with melted cheese, plenty of sauce, and bacon. The only problem is that once you load up your burger with everything that can and should go on it, it doesn’t leave much room for trying out new toppings. But we’ve done something revolutionary and turned the traditional burger inside out! We’ve replaced the top half of the hamburger bun with a head of cauliflower coated in ground beef, stuffed with plenty of cheddar cheese, and wrapped in a layer of crispy bacon. It looks just like a traditional burger, but the added cauliflower bun makes this bacon cheeseburger unlike any you’ve eaten before. Now those are some serious burger goals!
Inside-Out BBQ Bacon Cheeseburger With A Cauliflower Core
Ingredients
- 1 head of cauliflower
- 3 oz cheddar cheese, sliced
- 0.5 lb ground beef
- salt & pepper
- 5 oz bacon
- BBQ sauce
- 0.5 hamburger bun
- lettuce
- slices of tomato
- pickles
- slices of onion
- mustard
- sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a baking tray with parchment paper. Boil the cauliflower in salted water briefly, then let it cool. Cut the cheddar cheese into rectangular blocks and push them into the head of cauliflower.
- Season the ground beef with salt & pepper and place it in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Push the head of cauliflower down into the ground beef and cover it with the meat.
- Line your work surface with parchment paper and weave the strips of bacon into a lattice.
- Place the head of cauliflower coated in ground beef on the baking tray and wrap the woven bacon around it.
- Brush approximately 3 tablespoons of BBQ sauce over the surface of the bacon. Transfer the baking tray to the oven and bake the inside-out BBQ bacon cheeseburger at 350°F for 25 minutes.
- Place the lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, BBQ sauce, and mustard on top of the bottom half of a hamburger bun, then top it off with the cauliflower bacon cheeseburger. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top, and your inside-out BBQ bacon cheeseburger is ready to be served!
