1. Wonderful Watermelon Jello Slices

Yield: 4–6 servings

Prep Time: 15 minutes

Cooking Time: 5 minutes

Inactive Time: 8 hours

Difficulty Level: Easy

You’ll Need:

For the strawberry jello:

  • 1 package of strawberry jello
  • 1¼ cups water
  • 1 tbsp unflavored gelatin powder
  • 1 tbsp chocolate sprinkles
  • vegetable oil to coat the glass

For the lime jello:

  • 1 package of lime jello
  • 2½ cups water
  • 1 tbsp unflavored gelatin powder
  • vegetable oil to coat the glass

Here’s How:

1.1 For the strawberry jello, heat the strawberry gelatin powder and water in a saucepan on the stove, then add in the unflavored gelatin powder and stir everything together until the gelatin powder has dissolved.

1.2 Pour the strawberry jello into a bowl and place that bowl into a larger bowl filled with ice-cold water. Stir the strawberry jello to cool it down until it begins to solidify, then stir in the chocolate sprinkles. Coat the outside of a tall glass with vegetable oil and pour the strawberry jello into it, using a funnel if necessary, and leaving ½ inch of space at the top of the glass. Transfer the glass to the refrigerator and chill for at least 4 hours.

1.3 For the lime jello, heat the lime gelatin powder and water in a saucepan on the stove, then add in the unflavored gelatin powder and stir everything together until the gelatin powder has dissolved. Take the saucepan off of the heat and let the lime jello cool down to room temperature. Coat a large drinking glass with vegetable oil and place the tall glass filled with strawberry jello upside down in the center of the large glass.

1.4 Pour the cooled lime jello into the large glass while carefully removing the tall glass, leaving the strawberry jello in the middle. Transfer the large glass to the refrigerator and chill for another 4 hours.

1.5 Carefully take the jello out of the large glass, then cut the watermelon jello log lengthwise through the middle. Cut the watermelon jello into individual slices to serve.

2. Cool Cola Jello

Yield: 1

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cooking Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes

Inactive Time: 45 hours

Difficulty Level: Easy

You’ll Need:

For the cola jello:

  • 2½ cups cola (1 bottle)
  • 2 tbsp unflavored gelatin powder

For the lemon jello:

  • ⅓ cup water
  • juice of ½ lemon
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tsp unflavored gelatin powder

Extra:

  • 1 empty cola bottle
  • lemon wedges for the garnish

Here’s How:

2.1 For the cola jello, pour the cola into a saucepan and stir in the unflavored gelatin powder. Let the gelatin sit for about 5 minutes, then gradually heat the mixture until the gelatin has dissolved. Use a measuring cup or funnel to transfer the cola back into the empty cola bottle, but only fill it about ¾ of the way. Transfer the cola bottle to the refrigerator and chill for 30 minutes.

2.2 For the lemon jello, gradually heat the water, lemon juice, sugar, and unflavored gelatin powder in a saucepan and stir the mixture until the unflavored gelatin powder has dissolved. Remove the lemon jello from the heat and let it cool down to room temperature, then pour it into the cola bottle on top of the set cola jello. Transfer the cola bottle back to the refrigerator and chill for 4 more hours.

2.3 Carefully cut the cola bottle open with a knife or scissors and slowly remove the cola jello.

2.4 Slice the cola jello and serve it with refreshing lemon wedges.
