- heavy-bottomed saucepan
- Toothpicks
- ladle
- vegetable oil
- Spoon
- Parchment paper
- new wide-tooth comb
- Rolling Pin
Ingredients
- 1 1/4 cups sugar
- 1/3 cup water
- 1 tbsp honey
- roasted hazelnuts
- caramel candy
Instructions
- Add the sugar and water to a heavy-bottomed saucepan over medium heat and bring to a boil. Stir in the honey and cook until the syrup turns light brown. Remove the pot from the heat and let cool until no more bubbles are visible.
- Insert a toothpick into each roasted hazelnut. Dip the hazelnuts into the caramel syrup and let the caramel drip off to form spikes.
- Lightly oil a ladle. Use a spoon to drizzle the caramel syrup over the back of the ladle to form a clam shape. Let it cool and harden before removing.
- Place a piece of parchment paper on a flat surface. Use a spoon to drizzle the caramel syrup in the shape of a butterfly. Let it cool and harden.
- Use a new wide-tooth comb to drizzle the caramel syrup back and forth to create a nest shape. Let it cool and harden.
- Use a spoon to drizzle the caramel syrup over a rolling pin to create a spiral shape. Let it cool and harden before removing.
