Cooking Time: 10–15 minutes
Difficulty Level: Moderate
You’ll Need:
For the egg hot dog:
- 5 eggs
- vegetable oil
- 1 hot dog bun
- pickles
- crispy fried onions
- lettuce
- ketchup
Extra:
- 1 zipper storage bag
- lighter
Here’s How:
1.1 Heat the edge of a large knife using a lighter, then use the hot blade to cut a narrow strip off of a zipper storage bag. The hot knife will seal the edge of the plastic bag, leaving you with a narrow and a wide one.
1.2 Pour some vegetable oil into the narrow plastic bag and move it around so that the interior is coated in vegetable oil, preventing the egg from sticking to it. Pour out any excess vegetable oil, then crack the eggs directly into the narrow plastic bag and seal it. Make sure the eggs are distributed as evenly as possible, then heat a pot filled with water on the stove. Bring the water to a boil, submerge the plastic bag filled with eggs in the boiling water, and cook the eggs for 10 minutes.
1.3 Carefully cut open the bag and heat up the hot dog bun. Place the egg hot dog in the hot dog bun; top it off with pickles, lettuce, and crispy fried onions; and drizzle ketchup on top to serve.
