Everyone loves a good hot dog, whether you’re having dinner at the ballpark or you’re on-the-go and need a quick bite that you know will taste great. We love how practical the hot dog is – it always fills you up, it’s quick & easy to prepare, and you can top it off with all of your favorite sauces. But just serving a hot dog in a regular old bun with some ketchup, mustard, and relish can get repetitive and boring, and we think that hot dogs are better than that! Cheese-stuffed hot dog boats, hot dog breakfast burritos, and a corn dog pizza – hot diggity dog, these dishes are delicious!
1. Cheese-Stuffed Hot Dog Boats

You’ll Need:
- 3⅓ cups flour
- ¼ stick butter, melted
- 1 egg
- 3 tbsp sugar
- 1 packet dry yeast (¼ oz)
- 1 tsp salt
- ¾ cup milk
- 3 cups shredded mozzarella
- 6 hot dogs
- 2 whisked egg yolks + milk for the egg wash
- sesame seeds
- mustard
- ketchup
- sliced pickles
Here’s How:
1.1 For the buns, combine the flour, melted butter, egg, sugar, dry yeast, salt, and milk in a large mixing bowl and knead everything by hand or a with a mixer with a dough hook until a smooth dough forms. Cover the dough with a clean kitchen towel and let it rise for 1 hour. After the dough has risen, preheat the oven to 350°F and knead the dough again.
1.2 Cut the dough into 6 equal pieces and roll them into balls. Let the balls of dough rest for 15 minutes, then roll them out into 6-inch circles. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella on both sides of each rolled-out segment of dough.
1.3 Fold the sides of each piece of dough towards the center, sealing in the cheese.
1.4 Place the hot dogs lengthwise between 2 chopsticks and slice them at ½-inch intervals, stopping the cut when the knife hits the chopsticks. Place 1 sliced hot dog in the center of each stuffed piece of dough and pinch both ends together. Whisk the egg yolks together with some milk and brush the egg wash over the dough. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top of the buns and place the cheese-stuffed hot dog boats on a baking tray. Transfer the baking tray to the oven and bake the hot dog boats at 350°F for 20 minutes.
1.5 Top the cheese-stuffed hot dog boats with mustard, ketchup, and pickles to serve.
2. Hot Dog Breakfast Burrito

Cooking Time: 5–6 minutes

You’ll Need:
- 2 eggs
- salt & pepper
- 2 tbsp milk
- 2 hot dogs
- 1 whole wheat tortilla
- ½ cup shredded mozzarella
- 1 tbsp butter
Here’s How:
2.1 Whisk the eggs in a large mixing bowl, then add in the milk and season with salt & pepper. Heat an 11-inch non-stick frying pan and melt some butter in it. Pour the whisked eggs into the hot frying pan, then place the whole wheat tortilla on top and let everything cook on medium heat for about 3 minutes.
2.2 Flip the tortilla over and sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top of the cooked egg.
2.3 Cut the ends off of the 2 hot dogs, place them on 1 end of the tortilla, and roll everything up into a snug log. Cover the pan and let everything cook for an additional 4 minutes.
3. Corn Dog Pizza

- ⅔ cup plain yogurt
- 3 eggs
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 pinch of salt
- ¾ cup corn meal
- ¼ tsp baking soda
- 6 hot dogs
- chopped scallions
Here’s How:
3.1 For the corn dog batter, combine the corn meal, plain yogurt, eggs, vegetable oil, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl and stir everything together with a whisk until a smooth batter forms.
3.2 Slice the hot dogs diagonally into 3 equal segments.
3.3 Heat some vegetable oil in an 11-inch non-stick frying pan and arrange the hot dog pieces in sun-shaped pattern.
3.4 Pour the corn dog batter over the hot dogs and spread it around evenly in the pan. Let everything cook on low heat for 10 minutes.
3.5 Carefully flip over the corn dog pizza and sprinkle shredded mozzarella on top. Cover the frying pan and let everything cook for another 5 minutes.
3.5 Sprinkle chopped scallions on top of the corn dog pizza to serve.
