These 3 little dessert ideas are perfect for the weekend – say you want to treat yourself to something decadent, or perhaps you have some last-minute visitors show up at your door. After all, the best sweet treats are the ones that make use of ingredients you already have in your pantry.
Course Desserts

Ingredients

  • 2 scoops vanilla ice cream
  • ladyfingers
  • 2 fl oz cold coffee
  • 10 fl oz heavy whipping cream
  • 1 chocolate muffin
  • 1 chocolate praline

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 250°F. Melt two scoops of vanilla ice cream in a small bowl, add an egg yolk, and stir everything together. Pour the mixture into a ramekin, place the ramekin in the center of a casserole dish, fill the casserole dish with water, and bake for 45 minutes. Remove the ramekin from the casserole dish, sprinkle sugar on top of the crème brûlée, and caramelize the top with a culinary torch.
  • Add the cold coffee and cold heavy whipping cream to a tall container, secure the lid, and shake vigorously until the cream stiffens. Line a small casserole dish with ladyfingers, followed by a smooth layer of coffee cream. Repeat until you reach the top of the dish. Garnish the top layer of coffee cream with chocolate shavings and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  • Scoop out a small hole from the top of a chocolate muffin, place a chocolate praline in the hole, and put the removed piece of the muffin back in place. Microwave on low (400 watts) for about 2 minutes and sprinkle powdered sugar over the finished product.
